With a career spanning over three decades, he has earned a reputation as a highly respected Family Physician and a visionary leader in the healthcare industry.
What sets Dr. Benson apart is not just his impressive track record in implementing value-based care models but also the profound relationships he has cultivated with families from diverse backgrounds. Prior to joining Emcara Health, Dr. Benson served as the Chief Physician Executive for the American Health Network, overseeing healthcare operations across Ohio and Indiana. His leadership during this tenure showcased his commitment to innovation, patient-centric care, and the development of robust clinical practices.
Dr. Benson graduated from medical school at Des Moines University and completed his residency in Family Practice at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. It was during this time that Dr. Benson discovered his passion for family medicine, drawn by the prospect of influencing care and development across familial generations.
